Germán Martínez Hidalgo

Si hay alguien que sabía explicar física en Puebla era el Profesor Germán Martínez Hidalgo. Lo conocí en la Sociedad Astronómica de Puebla cuando el era el director del planetario. Era una persona muy activa y entusiasmada con la física. Después, tuve la oportunidad de compartir con el alguna que otra comida, conversaciones sobre múltiples cosas, cultura, ciencia, historia, humor, etc.. El Prof. Germán era una persona muy completa, sabía de todo y siempre tenía un libro en referencia a lo que decía a la mano. Disfrute de las sesiones de astronomía en la sociedad, de sus bromas, de sus cuentos, de su gusto por la música.

Esa ha sido mi experiencia personal con él, y esa experiencia y más la tuvieron muchas otras personas e instituciones que le extrañarán y le recosdarán con cariño. El prof. Germán ha dejado un lugar dificil de llenar, es por eso que se han organizado una serie de actividades en su honor, y es este el motivo del post.

Hoy en día hay muy pocas personas como el Prof. Germán y si no los reconocemos no podemos ver lo grande que podríamos ser siguiendo los pasos de personas que construyen positivamente nuestra sociedad. Espero que los que puedan asistan a los eventos.

TOKYO - A new product on the Japanese market has been designed for the single girl in need of some manly comfort while she sleeps.

The “Boyfriend Arm’s Pillow” is shaped like a giant arm which will hold you all night without the need for the real thing.

The almost life-size boyfriend pillow is the product of the Japanese bed linen maker, Kameo Corp., located in the Japanese city of Fukuoka. The company already sold more than 1,000 pillows since its launch last year. It costs $80 dollars (8,500 yen) and is currently only sold in Japan on the Internet.

Angels & Demons ReVieW

Just a few words about the movie "Angels&Demons"..




As a CERN user I had the chance to get a ticket for the "avant-première", thus I watched the movie on Monday. I really liked the first 5 minutes, where ATLAS appears. ATLAS is not an antimatter machine as they said, but it is a machine aimed to find the particle that gives mass to others. Another issue that is not true is that there are not offices near to the experiment, they are in the ground. In the other hand they do have very nice "software" for the detector monitoring, I think ATLAS most copy some of those animations.




Other thing that I really liked were the places, I love Italy, I love Rome. They have very good quality even if some of them are not real, as the Sixtine Chapel. I really liked the trip trough Rome streets.

The story, I prefer "The Da Vinci Code".
